Biography

Mr. Krishnan is dedicated Bharathanatyam exponent - Kalashethra style - and an excellent choreographer from Puducherry. He combines tradition and creativity in a unique way and successful in preserving depth and naturalness in his compositions.

Trained by renowned gurus Padma Bhushan.Dr.Padma Subramaniyam, Kalaimamani Tmt.Jayasri Narayan and Kalaimamani Tmt.Dr.Shanthi Babu, Mr. Krishnan has composed various varnams and Keerthanas, which are illustrative examples of his devotion and knowledge in this art.

Mr. Krishnan has started learning the basics of Bharathanatyam under Tmt. Karpaga Sugacha as a young boy. From the beginning he was inspired and determined to experience the joy of performing this Indian Classical Dance Form. His discipline and longing to become a perfect Bharathanatyam expert helped him to be an excellent performer which induce devotion and peace in the audience.

Mr. Krishnan joined Bharathiyar Palkalai Koodam, Puducherry University to secure B.P.A in Bharathanatyam and then M.F.A from Sastra University, Tanjore.

Along with his continuous learning, Mr. Krishnan guided many students and performers in Bharathanatyam. He was working as a Bharathanatyam Guru in various Schools for 25 Years and at present in Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Directorate of School Education, Puducherry.

Mr. Krishnan is a wonderful performer and been part of many dance dramas. His movements and expressions on the stage reflects his deep level of understanding and constant dedication to this art form. He has performed in many stages all over India including Natyanjali - Chidambaram, Tanjore, Karaikal and Thiruvaiyar attracted a wider audience from all over the world.
